Fashion Portraits
Portrait Photographer Scottish Borders
We love to something a bit different when it comes to our Portraiture and this weekend we had the perfect opportunity. Emma's parents wanted a Portrait of her but nothing conventional or traditional. They wanted something to hang on their wall which was more like a piece of art.
The result is a very "fashion" style of Portrait, very contemporary yet timeless. We love shooting this style of Portrait so hopefully showing this will inspire other people considering having a Portrait taken, to think outside the box!

Master Photographer of the Year 2012
The annual Master Photographers Association Scottish Awards have just been held in Edinburgh. Parris Photography have been named not only Portrait Photographer of the Year but overall Master Photographer of the Year for 2012!
The winning image for Portrait Photographer of the Year is below. We love this image for it's "quirkyness" and to us it has a very British feel to it! The couple in the picture are John & Ursula Rigg originally from England now living in South Carolina.
We had a great laugh with John & Ursula and would like to say a huge thank you to them for choosing us to take their Portraits. They love the shot as much as we do and it will soon be on permanent display in their home. We hope it brings a smile every time they look at it!
As well as this amazing acheivement we at Parris Photography also received certificates of excellence for our Wedding Photography, a couple of samples of the images are below.
This image is of one of our Brides, Lucy. She and husband Greg were married at Lennoxlove, Haddington. Lennoxlove have beautiful grounds and we loved the classic pose and the detail of the trees in the background giving depth to the image.
This is a selection of images from Joanne & Peters wedding in Dumfries. Chrichton Church is one of our favourite places to photograph. The stonework and pillars of the church are amazing!

Environmental Portrait Photography - Hannah
We had a lovely Portrait Photography session recently with Hannah. She's off to university soon and Mum & Dad wanted some natural shots of her before she goes.
We opted for an outdoor shoot and a casual look in the beautiful countryside of the Scottish Borders.
Good luck with University Hannah, the pics are great!

Classic Portrait Photographer of the Year
The annual Master Photographers Associaton Scottish Awards were held yesterday at Dunblane Hydro . We are delighted to announce that we have won the overall title of Scottish Classic Portrait Photographer of the Year 2011.
The winning image which is shown below is our client Don Nedler from Texas USA, whom we were commisioned to photograph in Australia back in March.
The winning image was shot in Black & White, in studio, with a single light to give a classic look. We wanted to create a more edgy feel though with the facial expression. Dark clothing was chosen to compliment the whole look.
Thanks goes to the judges for acknowledging the artistry and creativity of the image, and most of all thanks to Don for commisioning us to begin with.
As well as the overall title of Classic Portrait Photographer of the Year we also received
Classic Wedding Photographer of the Year - Award of Merit & Award of Excellence
Contemporary Wedding Photographer of the Year - Award of Excellence
Reportage Wedding Photographer of the Year - Award of Merit

Amrit & Harneen's Beach Portraits
You wouldn't think that we'd be working on the beach with the weather we've been having recently, but that's just where we were on Saturday 11th December.
It was on with the winter woolies and cosy boots and onto the sand and rocks at one of Scotland's many beautiful beaches.
Amrit & Harneen have booked us to photograph their wedding next year, and they wanted a Pre-Wedding Portrait shoot so they can show the images at their engagement party in January.
We had a great time on this shoot and we think Amrit & Harneen did too! We captured brilliant informal images as well as some romantic shots of the Bride & Groom to be.
Amrit & Harneen, we hope you love your images as much as we do, here's a little taster of the shoot. We can't wait for the Wedding, you're going to have stunning images!
