Claire & Michael's Wedding 25th June 2010, Wedding Photography at Roxburghe Hotel

Friday 25th June 2010 was the date of Claire & Michael's Wedding at the Roxburgh Hotel at Heiton near Kelso.

The Roxburgh Hotel is a stunning venue and we haven't worked there for ages so we were really looking forward to it.

The weather was perfect and the wedding took place in the conservatory where the light was lovely and soft.

After the ceremony we took the group shots out at the front of the hotel with the climbing roses in full bloom in the background.

After the family photographs we spent half an hour with Claire & Michael and captured some beautiful romantic shots of the two of them.

Claire & Michael, we loved working with you both, you were really relaxed and it comes accross in the pictures. we hope you like the featured shots below and we look forward to seeing you when you get back from your honeymoon, have a great time.

Natasha & Dane, Wedding Photography at Comlongon Castle

On Wednesday we shot Natasha & Dane's wedding at Comlongan Castle in Dumfries. It's ages since we worked there and it was lovely to be back.

The weather was great and the grounds of Comlongan are beautiful so that, together with the fact that Natasha & Dane are a great looking couple, meant we couldn't fail to get stunning pictures.

There were a real mixture of accents at this wedding as Dane is from Australia and Natasha is Canadian, not forgetting Natasha's dad Mike who is Scottish!

After the candlelit ceremony in the keep, the guests chatted with Natasha and Dane for a little while out on the lawn before going into the castle for champagne and canapes while we took the Bride and Groom away for some romantic photos around the grounds.

Natasha and Dane, we hope you like the images, we look forward to showing you the rest. Have a safe journey back to Australia and we'll speak to you soon.

Suz & Tom,12th June 2010, Dryburgh Abbey Wedding Photography

Suz & Tom had a fantastic day for their wedding at Dryburgh Abbey last Saturday. The weather was beautiful and sunny so the ceremony was outside in the grounds.

The ushers kept the guests topped up with champagne while we took the photographs and everyone was relaxed which has really come across in the pictures.

We have some absolutely stunning shots of Suz & Tom as well as gorgeous images of the cutest flowergirls & page boy ever!

Suz & Tom, have a lovely honeymoon and we look forward to seeing you when you get back. Here are some images from your big day, can't wait to show you the rest!

MPA Scotland Awards 2010

Last night was the annual Master Photographers Association Scottish Awards.

This year it was held at Dunblane Hydro which is looking amazing having just undergone a 12 million pound makeover.

We are "totally chuffed" to announce that John won the overall Scottish Photographer of the Year 2010!

As well as the overall title, John also bagged the following:

Complete Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010 (10 images from 1 wedding)
Overall Portrait Photographer of the Year 2010
Complete Portrait Photographer of the Year 2010 (5 images from 1 sitting)
Family Portrait Photographer of the Year 2010
Contemporary Portrait Photographer of the Year 2010

Sandra also did brilliantly winning the title of Reportage Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010.

Along with these titles we have also been awarded an unbelievable 18 awards of Merit and Excellence between us.

It's been a huge scoop for us especially as John also won Scottish Photographer of the Year with the BIPP at their awards ceremony on Loch Lomond a few weeks ago. It's great to see our hard work paying off!

We couldn't have done it without our Bride & Grooms and Portrait clients though, so thank you to you all.

Wedding of Karn & Ben, 5th June 2010, Wedding Photography at Auchen Castle

We were off to Auchen Castle, near Moffat, on Saturday for the wedding of Karn McSpadyen & Ben Turnbull.

Karn, originally from Scotland, is also a photographer based in Leicestershire so no pressure then!

It was a georgeous day with bright sunshine although a huge black cloud sat behind the castle for a big part of the shoot. Luckily the rain stayed away for the photographs and we got a really dramatic looking shot of Karn & Ben walking towards the castle with the big black cloud dominating the sky.

The whole day was very relaxed, Karn, Ben and their guests were all really laid back and everyone including us had a great time.

Here's a few shots we took on the day including the dramatic one with the stormy sky! Yes that really was how the sky looked, no tweaking needed!

CD Cover Shoot, 3rd June 2010

Over the last few years we've been lucky enough to work with triple platinum, country & folk artist, Isla Grant.

This time we were shooting the CD cover for Isla's new album which is due out later this year.

We'd decided we wanted a relaxed shoot on the beach which, as we all know in Scotland, was tempting fate! However, the weather was on our side and we got a fabulous day at St Abbs, you'd have thought we were abroad, so no need to call the album "Windswept"!

Isla bravely put her fear of heights aside and agreed to pose on some rocks overlooking the bay. We love these ones they look really relaxed and modern with Isla in her jeans and sandals.

Then we did some stunning shots with Isla walking along the beach in her bare feet and sun hat, followed by some fun shots of Isla spinning round so the floaty material on the top she was wearing billowed out in the breeze.

We also got a fun shot of Isla in her new Mercedes convertible with the blue sky in the background which looks like it could be an advert for the car!

As Isla's off to Canada on tour, some images will follow shortly as soon as we get the go ahead from her, so keep checking back!
