Mark & Mirron got married at the beautiful
Dryburgh Abbey in the Scottish Borders. They wanted to spend as much time with their guests as possible so we agreed to photograph the Bride & Groom an hour or so before the ceremony to allow them that important time.
FUN FUN FUN was the order of the day, Mirron had some amazing wellies covered with strawberries which they wanted featured in their wedding photography and we were happy to oblige. The whole day was totally relaxed and informal with a definite party atmosphere.
Mirron is Dutch and had many family members travelling to Scotland for the wedding so our couple arranged for them all to have Scottish dancing lessons before dinner to prepare them for the Ceilidh in the evening. Most of them picked it up pretty quickly and after a few false starts and tangled arms and legs they were all doing a decent "Gay Gordons" !
Here are just some of the great images we captured on the day.
An emotional start to the ceremony in the chapel at Dryburgh Abbey
A well deserved round of applause after the Registrar performed a reading in Dutch for Mirron's family & friends.
We loved this detailed shot showing off Mirron's Bouquet and Mark's Kilt.
The famous strawberry wellies!

A lovely natural shot of Mark & Mirron enroute to the next location during the shoot
We love this slightly quirky shot just focusing on the detail of Mirron's Wedding Dress and Mark's Kilt & Sporran
Another chance to show off those wellies while creating a more creative "different" kind of shot
The dance lessons!
